A rich tradition of choral and liturgical music, central to the life of our parish for centuries.
Cantores Michaelis is the choir of St Michael the Archangel. The choir provides the music for the Sunday Sung Eucharist and other special services throughout the year, maintaining a high standard of choral singing in the Anglican tradition.
The choir sings a wide range of music — from Renaissance polyphony to contemporary compositions — and plays a vital part in the worship life of the parish. Details of the music programme for forthcoming services are shared via our newsletter and social media.
If you are interested in joining Cantores Michaelis or would like further information, please contact us.
St Michael's is home to a fine Victorian pipe organ, which has accompanied worship in the church for well over a century. The instrument plays a central role in both choral services and congregational worship.
The organ is available for recitals and other musical events. Please contact us for details.
Music is integral to worship at St Michael's. Our principal service each week is the Sunday Sung Eucharist at 10:30am, at which Cantores Michaelis leads the singing. The service follows the Common Worship order of the Church of England.
Details of forthcoming music programmes are shared in the Parish Newsletter (TAN) and on our Facebook page.
